overall:
( PATIENCE ) He is not a patient man. He is used to doing thing immediately and not waiting for anything or anyone. He tends to be very irritable once things do not go his way or do not happen right away and will sulk and stop talking to the person that made him mad.
( FLIRTING ) Ever since he lost Delphia he has turned into a major flirt. Losing his baby sent him over the edge and their deaths sent him into a spiraling depression. After he was turned willingly, he became a complete flirt and did everything in his power to get the women that he wanted.
( IRRITABLE ) He is irritable, and tends to get temperamental as things go wrong. He will flip tables, throw things, and often yell and holler when things are going wrong. He hates not being in control of things and so tries to do what he can to change that and fights for it constantly.
( TOLERANT ) He is tolerant of the people around him and is not racist in any way. After Delphia he has not been able to be rude and does not tolerate racism from anyone. He feels like he failed her because the baby died before he was able to get it freedom. He still loves Delphia with all of his soul.

overall history:
CHILDHOOD:
He was born onto a plantation in Houston, Texas 178 years ago. Growing up, was taught that black people were less than human, stupid, and weren't worth anything except for the work that they accomplished. But when he became friends with a young slave boy at the age of five, his entire view on slavery changed. He became close friends with the boy and the two of them roamed the plantation, getting into a world of mischief with the slaves. The two were close friends. As he grew older, his parents demanded that he cut off ties to the black boy, and he was forced to forget his friend Jerome.
As the years went by, he grew closer to his older brother, William. The two often roamed the plantation, riding horses, and causing trouble that the slaves had to fix. Most of the time his father looked the other way because he was so strictly racist that he believed his sons were following in his footsteps and causing trouble for the slaves. It was true, his older son had, and at age eight, well Roger was easily persuaded. By the time he turned ten, he had cut off most ties from his brother's mischief and befriended one of the older, friendly female slaves where he would go visit and nibble on treats that she would bake for him from the kitchen.
ADOLESCENCE
When he turned thirteen, his old childhood friend. Jerome, was sold. He begged his father not to. Literally begged, hoping that he would be able to save his friend and keep his family together. But it had not worked, his father became angry and told him that he would sell every slave on the farm and there was nothing that Roger would be able to do about it. That night, he cried for his friend, and turned cold against his father, angry and hurt. He stopped talking to him unless it was important, and the two went their own separate ways. The only person that was able to hold their family together was his mother, Lina, who tried to reason with Roger, saying that it was his father's choice and that Jerome had been his property. But Roger heard none of it, and instead lashed out at his mother, angry that she referred to his friend as someone's property.
At the age of fifteen, a new girl showed up on the plantation. She was rather sweet, beautiful in his eyes, but he couldn't admit it to anyone. Because she was black, and he knew that if his father found out he would get rid of her. The way he had gotten rid of Jerome and his old, slave friend who used to give him treats when he was young. He avoided the slaves now, most days spending them locked away in his room where he wrote and sent it in to the local newspaper. His writings were favored by the editor and he received payment for each story. His plan was to make a fortune off of it and move away from his father's plantation as soon as he could.
At sixteen, he learned of the girl's rape, angry with his brother. The two brother's fought and after the fight, he went and found the girl who had been raped, apologizing for his brother and trying to make things as right as he could in the wrong situation. By the age of seventeen, a friendship and romance had been stricken up between the two. And he feared his father's wrath, knowing if they were discovered that his father would sell her and get rid of her. Once he was told that she was pregnant, he protected her with everything he had. He didn't tell anyone about them, not even his friend who was a slave. Anyone that knew was a person that could ruin his chances of being happy. He planned to save up enough to buy her freedom and move up north, but when she died with the baby, he was heart broken.
Roger protected the baby, buying it with the money he had saved up, and awarded it her freedom. He loved the child, and was destroyed when she too tied three weeks later. His time with her and the child had not been long enough, and his suffering drove him to drinking and becoming reckless. The reckless behavior developed to the point where when he met a vampire, he asked several questions, whether he would feel pain, whether he would still love. And the vampire lied, but not in the way that he had intended to. This vampire had not felt true love and lost it, and so Roger agreed to be turned into a vampire.
ADULTHOOD:
Ever since he was turned, he has lived the last several 160 years in pain, loving dog after dog and trying to replace Delphia with woman after woman, in attempts to forget... in attempts to take away the pain. He is on the rebellion and has killed several humans in feeding, not intentionally, but because he temporarily forgets the pain he feels about Delphia. And in the end, after he kills them, he feels more guilt and hatred for himself than he did before.
